Private Daniel Travis
Private Daniel Travis (1742 - 1800), of English heritage, was the son of Joseph and Sarah. He married Thankful Wadkins of Hopkinton in 1766. He marched on the alarm of 19 April 1775 in Captain Joseph Morse’s Company and Colonel Samuel Bullard’s Regiment. He died in 1800 and was buried in Old Dell Park Cemetery. When the cemetery was established in 1849, the remains of many Revolutionary War soldiers were moved from the old cemetery in the center of town.
His son, also Daniel, was killed when the family house fell on him while under repair. The house still stands at 31 Hartford Street and is shown on the 1750 Livermore Map.
