Private Samuel Morse Jr.

Private Samuel Morse, Jr. (1750 - 1830), of English heritage, marched to Lexington on the alarm of April 19, 1775 in a five day enlistment. His name appears on the Bunker Hill Muster Roll for June 17, 1775. He also served from July 28 - 31, 1780 in response to an alarm at Rhode Island. His granddaughter Mary Ann Morse (1825 - 1862), willed her estate to the Town of Natick to establish the Morse Institute Library, which was erected in 1873.
