Private Thomas Sawin, III
Private Thomas Sawin, III (1752-1856), of English heritage, was 23 years old when he responded to the alarm on April 19, 1775. He also marched on Bunker Hill on June 17, 1775 and continued to serve through the fall and winter of 1775 - 76. Thomas was one of ten children born to Thomas Sawin, II (1717–1790) and Abigail “Polly” Morse. Their family home, formerly on South Street, was a meeting place for some Natick Minute Men on their way to Lexington in 1775; it is shown on the 1750 Livermore Map.
He is buried in the South Natick Burying Ground, also shown on the 1750 Livermore Map.
