Private Nathan Jenison (Jennison)

Private Nathan Jenison (1754 - 1783), of English heritage, was one of six children of Robert Jennison of Natick.  He married Sarah Dowse in May 1773 at the age of 19. After the birth of two children, she died in 1779.  He was remarried later that year to Mercy Jones, and they had two children.   

In 1780 he answered the call to Rhode Island and served for 6 days. He died at age 29 in 1783. His family home, the Jenison (Jennison) House, built in 1738, still stands on Frost Street in Natick. It is shown on the 1750 Livermore Map.
