Sergeant Henry Loker Jr.
Only the Bunker Hill Muster Roll, recently conserved by the Natick Historical Society, provides the evidence that Henry Loker, Jr. (1724 - 1813), fought in the Revolutionary War. Despite a descendant’s narrative that places him at the alarm of April 19 and battles in the Hudson River Valley, we could find no other source to confirm this story.
Born in Sudbury in 1724, of English heritage, Sgt. Loker was 51 years old when his name appeared on the Bunker Hill Muster Roll. He and his wife, Hannah, had 11 children. At the time of the 1790 Census, he and his family were living in Natick.
The Loker House, 82 Winter Street, Natick, was built by his father, Henry Loker (1684 - 1765). It appears on the 1750 Livermore Map.
Loker died in 1813 and is buried in North Cemetery, established in 1741 and also shown on the 1750 Livermore Map.
