Captain Joshua and Private Moses Fisk
Brothers Joshua (1748 - 1796) and Moses (1746 - 1810) Fisk, of English heritage, answered the alarm of 19 April at Lexington and served at Bunker Hill. Joshua was promoted to Captain and answered the alarm at Rhode Island.
As was a common naming tradition in families at the time, Joshua and Moses were the sons of Moses Fisk (1713 - 1770); Moses, in turn, named his son Moses (1776 - 1851). The eldest Moses Fisk was a Selectman in Natick and a deputy to the Massachusetts General Court.
Their boyhood home is shown on the 1750 Livermore Map.The Fisk family home was located in the area of Natick called the Needham Leg. The Needham Leg is marked on the 1750 Livermore Map. It was part of Needham during the war.
Both Joshua and Moses are buried in North Cemetery, also shown on the 1750 Livermore Map.
Joshua was born in Sherborn, and died in Natick.
Moses was born in Natick and died there according to FamilySearch, though it was probably actually Needham.
