Sergeant Elijah Esty

Sergeant Elijah Esty (1736 - 1824) of English heritage, was 39 years old when he enlisted as a private in Captain Joseph Morse's company. He responded to the alarm on April 19, 1775, but his regiment did not reach Lexington in time for the battle. His name appears on the Bunker Hill Muster Roll. Esty had previously served as a musician for the British Army in the Seven Years’, or French and Indian War (1756 - 1763).
